The 27 Nakshatras
Jyotish divides the zodiac into 27 lunar mansions of 13°20′ each — the Moon passes through one roughly every day, a resolution more than twice as fine as the 12 signs. The nakshatra the Moon occupied at your birth is your birth nakshatra (janma nakshatra): it anchors your dasha timeline and describes the texture of your mind.
